Getting SEO content done right for WordPress businesses can be frustrating. You’ve checked all the boxes, optimised towards a keyword, and made sure that your writing is relevant. You’ve also applied all the techniques you’ve seen work well for other industries. But your content keeps ranking too low to get any results. SEO is, after all, a winner-takes-all game: the top results will get a disproportionate volume of traffic to everybody else.

“How can I get SEO content done right, specifically for my WordPress business?” is a question we get asked a lot here at Ellipsis: the answer is a particular area of expertise for us.

Over the last few years, we’ve achieved great client results by focusing on understanding what drives success specifically for WordPress content. We work hard on constantly identifying ways of improvement and finding new, innovative ways to do better. In the last year, this approach has led to the development of our own inhouse AI SEO tool, FALCON AI, which has increased our overall client SEO content’s performance by at least 30%.

We use FALCON AI to find the best ways we can optimise content in ways which help our clients rank better, making use of its advanced NLP configurations trained on WordPress-specific content. FALCON isn’t about time or cost savings for us: it’s about finding ways which can give tangible, positive results for our SEO content clients.

Deploying FALCON AI for WP RSS Aggregator

WP RSS Aggregator, a plugin business whose solution enables users to automatically import RSS content to their site, approached us last year for a Marketing Audit and Strategy. During the audit work, we identified that while they did have good SEO content which was ranking relatively well, they had interesting opportunities to increase their rankings significantly.

Mark Zahra, CEO of RebelCode, which owns the plugin, therefore engaged Ellipsis to bridge the gap between content performance and potential. Here’s how their average ranking moved over time thanks to the work we delivered, with the decisions we took powered by FALCON AI:

This is arguably one of the few times we aim for the line to go down, not up!

During this 10 month period, our team used FALCON AI to improve 20 of their previously-published posts. This resulted in WP RSS Aggregator’s average ranking going up from 28 to 8 for the posts we worked on.

How FALCON AI powers our client content decisions

FALCON AI empowers a number of our steps throughout the optimisation work and is made up of a number of different components which are trained specifically on WordPress content. Here’s how that works.

First, FALCON AI identifies which content is a good fit for further optimisation by checking the post against its Machine Learning model, to see if the post has the potential to rank well and make sales.

If this is positive, FALCON AI will check if the target keyword is the best fit for the post. It will check up to 50 alternative keywords to see which performs best, and flags if the target keyword should be changed for something which has a better chance of performing.

Next, we use FALCON AI’s Natural Language Processing to identify if there are missing topics, and what these are.

We then use the information provided to make these improvements directly, and repeat across all posts where this needs doing.

The outcome of this is the results outlined above: by combining advanced AI with human expertise, we deliver significant SEO improvements, specifically for WordPress businesses

Here’s Mark himself, speaking about his experience:

We worked with Alex and the Ellipsis team for around 10 months to improve WP RSS Aggregator’s content marketing efforts.

We had a number of older posts that were still very relevant, but they had fallen behind in the rankings.

The team at Ellipsis did a great job at updating that content and optimising it to the extent that they improved our average ranking from 28 to 8, with some even getting to the number 1 spot!

The results speak for themselves and the team was always in communication with us to find the best way forward.

If you’re thinking of taking your content marketing efforts to the next level, I highly recommend working with Ellipsis.

It’s deeply satisfying to see clients get the results: this helps them drive success for their business and growth in the long term. It validates our work and makes us keep working towards improving our systems even further: FALCON AI itself is being improved upon every day, to make sure we’re always a step ahead.
